*AVOID SHOP ASPIRE TECH LLC* *WARNING* I ordered my device in good condition, which by RefurbLanes standards means the item will have no visible screen damage while the device is on. However, my device came with obvious signs of screen damage from the starting screen (black screen) through to the login screen (bright screen). This damage includes pressure spots, horizontal lines across the screen on the top and bottom of the screen, and a chip/damage in the middle of the screen. I then went to find the box so that I could be ready for the return process and I realized that the boxes return name and address did NOT match the company name OR address I bought the refurbished device from. Im concerned this company (the shop, not RefurbLane) gave someone my personal information such as name and address, which is a huge violation of my trust. I was not doing business with a random guy out of OK, I was doing business with a "company". I am honestly not even sure that the refurbishing "company" even LOOKED at this laptop before sending it to me, or that it was ever even in their hands. As this was my first experience with RefurbLane, I am inclined to never use them again, at least not for big ticket items, and have chosen to replace my chromebook elsewhere. I did get a mouse to go with my chromebook that seems to be fine, but I can't be sure as I never got a chance to plug it in. All of this being said, if you're going to use RefurbLane, vet your stores CAREFULLY, as they make big promises around vetting their sellers that is not holding up, and big promises about how you can count on refurbished over used items, but here I am having to return it for unreported damages. I have reached out to RefurbLane and am waiting for a response. I am hopeful they will make this right by giving me a paid return slip as well as a full refund on the device, the extended warranty/insurance I purchased, and the service fee I paid. I will attempt to update this later to reflect how RefurbLane handled this. Also, there was gunk on the hard area below the keys near the touch pad that I cleaned off before realizing screen was damaged. Felt minimal at the time, but it adds to the frustration. Also also the casing had more than light scratches but again, this feels less of an issues compared to the screen. TLDR; shop was scammy, trust in RefurbLane diminished, shop carefully.
