I’ll be the first to admit I was incredibly nervous about ordering a refurbished laptop. Buying tech online can feel like a gamble, and I spent quite a bit of time debating whether or not to pull the trigger. After seeing the 5-star rating and the warranty included, I finally decided to go for it, and I am so incredibly happy that I did! The listing rated the condition as "Good," but honestly, if you told me this was a brand-new machine straight out of the box, I would believe you. It is absolutely flawless no scratches, no scuffs, and it runs like a dream. The Ryzen 7 Pro and 32GB of RAM make it a powerhouse for all my management tasks and spreadsheets. Having that warranty really eased my anxiety and gave me the peace of mind I needed to make the purchase. To whoever refurbished and prepped this device for me: thank you so much! You are awesome and clearly take pride in your work. If you're on the fence about buying, just do it. This exceeded every expectation I had!

The device came as expected, in perfect condition. Who would have thought that a refurbished laptop would look so brand new and work just like a new one. Everything from the specs, camera, microphone, fingerprint are all working fine. No scratches or signs of breaking due to falling.

I needed a new laptop that would power my new XTool F1 laser engraver. The ProBook 640 G8 has everything I need to keep my laser working at its peak performance. The computer is awesome! I think the condition is much better than “fair”, it’s in excellent condition and is doing exactly what I need it to do for a fraction of the price of something brand new. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and will recommend RefurbLane.com to anyone I know looking for professionally refurbished laptop computer. Sincerely, Eric J. Mullins

It looks and works like new. I had one of these through my employer for the past couple of years and I worked it hard. Earlier this month the agency updated our equipment, so it has been replaced with a new EliteBook model as the agency rolled out new equipment and updated everything to Windows 11 Enterprise with Windows 10 support ending earlier this month. However, I was in need of a quality Windows 11 capable machine for home. I figured I could score a decent example of the 840 G8 on the aftermarket, and voila! I did just that through RefurbLane for about 1/5 the price it cost when it was new. These things new are very expensive, and unlike my employer, I do not need the latest and greatest, just something that is still supported and works well for basic office tasks. I really like the form factor and the speakers, and believe it or not, even the 16:9 ratio screen size. Being familiar with the machine through my employer made the choice easy because I know how it works and what it can do. We also have the HP G5 docks at work, and they too work great for those desktop comforts, including dual monitor support, keyboard, mouse, power, and more, all through one Thunderbolt 4 USB-C connection to the dock. So I scored a used one on eBay for half of what they cost new and it adds those desktop comforts at home with easy connectivity and similarity to my work office set up, albeit with second-hand equipment. It makes it easy to switch out my 840 G8 with my new work laptop when I am working from home, and it simply works. The only thing I did was upgrade the RAM from 16 GB to 32 GB, as upgradability is the name of the game with this laptop. A solid choice for a great looking and performing laptop at a fraction of the cost of a new one. For those thinking about it, please keep in mind it is not a gaming laptop as it only has the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics with 1.5 GB of VRAM. It can play some basic games but that was not the intent of the machine. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my RefurbLane purchase through IT Replay, the refurbisher who sold me the laptop. Great work from IT Replay on the high-quality laptop and equally impressive shipping/packaging, and great work from RefurbLane for the platform to make the purchase quick and easy. Thank you all!

You probably could have sold this laptop as good+ condition. It just needed cleaned. There were literally no scratches or dents just black lines that seemed to have transfered from something else. Also the finish appeared sun damaged (it was just dirt!) I just used water and a microfiber and it looks like a brand new laptop. Thanks for the great deal! Maybe clean your products better?

I'm loving it so far. No issues yet, hasn't been long but sometimes issues suddenly sprout up right away. Started up out the box and set up just fine, played a game in it and got business stuff in on progress with installations. Very happy.

RefurbLane uses four condition grades: Fair, Good, Excellent and Premium. The grade describes the cosmetic condition of the laptop, from visible wear (Fair) to a near-pristine look with a battery at 90%+ capacity (Premium); every device is tested and confirmed fully functional before it ships, regardless of grade. Full definitions are on the RefurbLane Promise page.
It depends on the job. The EliteBook and ProBook are HP's enterprise-grade lines, built for professional daily use, with select EliteBook models tested to HP's own military-grade durability standard. The Spectre x360 is a premium 2-in-1 for creators and power users. The Envy is a strong mid-range pick for creative work, the Pavilion is HP's most budget-friendly everyday laptop, and the newer OmniBook and the HP Chromebook cover modern consumer and lightweight, education-focused use.
Yes. RefurbLane's Black Friday season runs from early November through Cyber Monday, and refurbished HP laptops, EliteBook, Pavilion, Envy, Spectre x360, ProBook and OmniBook, are already priced for less than their new equivalent year-round, with additional promotions layered on during the event. See what's live on the Black Friday laptop deals hub.
Yes. Every refurbished HP laptop on RefurbLane passes an up to 100-point inspection carried out by a vetted seller before it's listed. HP's EliteBook and ProBook lines were built for sustained professional use, which is part of why they hold up well to refurbishment. Every purchase includes a 1-year commercial warranty and a 30-day return window.
Choosing a refurbished laptop over a new one avoids around 89% of the greenhouse gas emissions generated during manufacturing, about 149 kg of CO2e per device, based on RefurbLane's calculation from the ADEME 2022 study. It also avoids roughly 655 kg of resources (rocks, minerals, water and energy) and 1.5 kg of e-waste compared with producing a new laptop.

Refurbished HP laptop deals for Black Friday: less than new, ready to ship

RefurbLane's refurbished HP lineup, the enterprise-grade EliteBook and ProBook, the premium Spectre x360 and Envy, the everyday Pavilion, and the newer OmniBook, already costs less than buying new, year-round. Black Friday just adds extra promotions on top of prices that are already lower than retail.

Match the HP line to your workload

Heavy daily use calls for the EliteBook or ProBook, HP's business-built ranges designed for durability. Creators and anyone who wants a touchscreen 2-in-1 should look at the Spectre x360 or Envy. Everyday browsing, homework or a backup machine is exactly what the Pavilion or an HP Chromebook is built for, while the OmniBook covers HP's newest consumer feature set.

More brands, more Black Friday savings

HP has plenty of company this Black Friday. Not sold on the EliteBook? Put refurbished Dell, Lenovo and Asus laptops through the same test, or go lightweight with a Chromebook. Chasing extra horsepower instead? A Gaming Laptop hits harder. Ready to see the full picture? The Black Friday laptop deals hub rounds up every brand in one place, so you can compare before you commit.
