The phone itself is great. It is exactly what we needed and wanted. A quality smart phone designed for people who don't broadcast constantly on social networks, film movies, play 3-D games, etc. with their phones.
The delivery and customer support were a mixed bag. I ordered two ATT phones. What the seller delivered were one ATT phone and one Verizon phone. When I contacted customer service to get that resolved, I was politely referred to the seller's customer service department which replied by message that the Verizon phone is unlocked and that the phone will recognize the ATT SIM card and reset itself accordingly. It did not. I contacted them again at which time I was told it would do it automatically, to which I again replied that after several attempts, it did not. Then I was told that I needed to reconfigure the APN settings. There was no definition of what APN settings are, where to find them, how to reset them, what they should be, nothing. I asked that someone call me to walk through the problem and was informed that they don't do that. Now I can deal with simple tech stuff, but I am definitely not a techie. So, I had to Google APN settings to answer all of those questions. Then when I had made all of the adjustments, it still didn't work because I was unaware that the SIM card (which was still in my wife's old phone so she could make calls while I figured this out) needed to be in the new phone to recognize the changes. I contacted them again, but figured it out on my own before they responded.
Bottom line, all of my contacts were courteous and responsive in a timing sense, but they assumed a level of technical expertise that is not typically present in a 68-year-old retired guy. If they had sent the phone I ordered in the first place, all of this would have been avoided. Would I order from RefurbLane again? Absolutely. But since they rely on their seller's customer service departments to support their customers, they need to set higher expectations and standards and be more involved when something like this occurs.
